 HP X 63000 1/10 X 63000 Torque (lb. in.) = = = 7 lb. in. RPM 900

Select MTL 25 based on 7 lb. in. at
900 RPM, unit will operate at maximum limit of continuous duty range.

## Example 2

Nip Roll or Pully Tension Control

Information Required:

Nip roll or pully diameter (in.) = 3 in. = .25 ft.

Tension (lb.) = 2.5 lb.

Velocity (feet per min.) = 300 FPM

Film Tensioning
(Paper, Film or Foil)

How To Size:

 Pully/ Roll Dia 3 Torque (lb. in.) = Tension (lbs.) X = 2.5 X = 3.75 lb. in. 2 2

 Velocity (FPM) 300 Check Operation RPM = = = 382 RPM (π) X Roll Dia. (ft.) 3.14 X .25

Select MTL 10 based on 3.75 lb. in.
at 382 RPM, unit will operate within continuous duty range.

## Example 3

Cycling

Information Required:

Slip RPM – 350 RPM
Torque (lb. in.) = 8 lb. in.

Duty Cycle = 25%

How To Size:

Select MTL 10 based on 8 lb. in.
at 350 RPM, unit will operate within intermittent duty range (25%
duty cycle).
